What you will be doing:
 
  • Coordinate and monitor student services.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments.
  • Review assessment data and prepare reports.
  • Collaborate with students, families, staff, and agencies to develop individualized education and behavior intervention plans.
  • Work with District staff to determine appropriate placement for eligible special education students.
  • Provide mental health services to students through daily check-ins and small group or individual behavior support.
  • Perform threat assessments regarding threats of self-harm, harm to others, or suicide; monitor and provide direct services according to safety and support plans.
  • Conduct academic screenings and assessments to place students in appropriate programs.
  • Consult and coordinate with other District and school staff to promote engagement and motivate students.
  • Attend and participate in continuing education to maintain certifications and stay updated on current trends and developments in child psychology.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Experience you will need:
  • Master’s degree in Educational Psychology or related field
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Understanding of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) regulations and requirements.
  • Knowledge of mental health assessments, diagnosis, and treatment methods.
  • Proficiency in intervention techniques.
  • Must be certified as a School Psych in AZ
