What you will be doing:
Provide clients with advice on a range of intricate Federal and State concerns, supervise tax engagement teams, and collaborate with other technical specialists.
Apply an in-depth understanding of accounting and taxation to provide clients in real estate, oil & gas, and various other for-profit sectors with planning, research, consulting, and compliance services.
Manage all aspects of technical planning, research, consulting, and compliance for corporations, pass-through entities (S Corps, Partnerships, Limited Liability Companies, and Trusts) and their owners.
Ensure that assignments are accomplished on time and within budget.
Oversee performance evaluation and direction, mentor and develop junior colleagues to advance their technical and professional abilities.
Participate in in-house CPE classes developed internally and provided by the Firm.
Assist in researching technical issues, writing technical memorandums, preparing analyses, and participating in IRS audits on behalf of clients.
Manage clients, which includes writing proposals, engagement letters, budgeting, staffing, and billing.
Experience you will need:
CPA license required.
Degree in Accounting or related field.
5+ years of recent progressive tax experience at a public accounting firm.
Experience in Real Estate, Oil & Gas, or professional services is a plus.
Strong tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, consolidated federal tax returns, partnership returns, and combined state tax returns.
Strong financial accounting background, i.e., debits and credits.
Demonstrated project management, supervisory, and leadership skills.
Strong tax research and analytical problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and a professional demeanor.
