What you will be doing:
Assist in the development and implementation of training programs
Coordinate with mine leadership to ensure that employees have the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitude to perform their assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner
Provide one-on-one and group training as needed for all mine heavy equipment
Provide assessments of employee knowledge and readiness and provide customized training as needed
Responsible for the creation of accurate training records in accordance with MSHA regulations
Develop training courses based on site needs
Facilitate new miner, experienced miner, hazard, site, and task-specific field training courses as needed
Adjust training techniques based on learning style types to optimize trainees' learning experience and information retention
Coordinate and handle in-field training with developed modules, supporting trainees' growth in equipment proficiency
Provide follow-up on training by issuing evaluations, maintaining frequent contact with supervision, and conducting on-the-job training
Experience you will need:
10 years of experience in the mining industry
3-5 years of experience in mine training
Knowledge of 793 C/F series haul trucks, Cat 7495 electric shovels, 16 M3 motor graders, D8 and D10 dozers, Atlas Copco Pit Viper 271 drills, and Cat 994 loaders
Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent leadership skills and knowledge of influencing others
Ability to promote safety in training and lead by example
Experience working in a continuous improvement culture
Valid Driver's license
Proven safe work record
Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions
Ability to be self-directed, team-oriented, and work with minimum supervision required
Ability to climb stairs/ladders and lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations
