What you will be doing:
  • Work on all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trials and appeals.
  • Conduct legal research and write memoranda.
  • Draft complex case evaluations and prepare briefs, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct, propound, and respond to discovery (documents, written discovery, depositions).
  • Work with clients, witnesses, experts, and other counsel.
  • Represent clients in state and federal courts or before government agencies.
  • Prepare and argue motions, including motions for summary judgment/adjudication.
  • Prepare for and defend lay and expert witness depositions.
  • Manage case development and investigation, including regularly reporting to partners overseeing cases and clients.
  • Communicate research into meaningful written work product.

Experience you will need:
  • 1-3 years of litigation experience is preferred.
  • Strong writing and case management skills.
  • Direct experience handling clients and adversaries.
  • Excellent oral advocacy skills are required.
  • Savvy with e-discovery, data/document management applications, and related technologies.
  • Previous law firm experience is preferred.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California and be in good standing.

Salary: $130,000 - $160,000/year
