Senior Counsel Attorney (Defense) (LA, Sac, SF, OC, or SD)

RBPRSLLC is looking for candidates to fill the position of Senior Counsel Attorney (Defense). On-Site position in either LA, Sac, SF, OC, or SD, CA. No visa sponsorships supported, no agencies please.

The candidate should be located in or within a commutable distance to one of the following offices: Sacramento (95825), San Francisco (94111), Los Angeles (90017), Orange County (92612), or San Diego (92122).

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborate and make strategic decisions in consultation with relationship partners.
  • Execute strategic decisions and manage single plaintiff and complex class action/collective action matters.
  • Direct defense discovery efforts.
  • Take and defend depositions, including the plaintiff's deposition.
  • Identify and work with expert witnesses.
  • Draft motions, including but not limited to dispositive motions.
  • Make court appearances.
  • Engage in direct settlement negotiations and during settlement conferences and mediation.
  • Prepare cases for trial and arbitration.

Experience you will need:

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in labor and employment law litigation in California.
  • Class action experience preferable.
  • Highly motivated with excellent writing, analytical, and people skills.
  • Value a collaborative team environment and prepared to work independently.
  • Ability to independently manage significant litigation matters, including complex class action/PAGA matters.
  • Experience through all phases of litigation, including opposing class certification, dispositive motions, working with experts, and trial management discovery/motion practice.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Juris Doctor degree.
  • Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state of California.
  • Must have a California bar license.
  • Must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice during employment.
Salary: $230,000 - $290,000/year
