What you will be doing:
- Supervise and manage a team of claims adjusters, ensuring high levels of performance, accuracy, and productivity in handling workers' compensation claims.
- Oversee the daily operations of claims management, ensuring compliance with New York Workers' Compensation laws and regulations.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, resolving issues, and ensuring the effective management of workers' compensation claims.
- Analyze claims data and trends to identify opportunities for improving claim outcomes and reducing costs.
- Develop and implement best practices for claims management, from reporting and investigation to settlement and closure.
- Review and approve claims reserves and settlement offers, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., legal, medical, and risk management) to address complex claims and ensure that all stakeholders are informed.
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff on best practices, regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting on claims status, outcomes, and financial projections.
- Participate in client meetings, provide recommendations for improving claims processes, and deliver insights into claims trends and performance metrics.
- Resolve any escalated issues or disputes related to claims, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining strong client relationships.
Experience you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Risk Management, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Experience in workers' compensation claims management, preferably in New York State.
- In-depth knowledge of New York Workers' Compensation laws and regulations.
- Previous experience supervising or managing a team of claims professionals.
- Strong understanding of claims processes, medical management, and injury management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster license (preferred).
- 5-10 years adjusting workers' compensation claims in multiple jurisdictions.
- NY, NJ, PA experience preferred. NY/NJ experience required.
- Healthcare industry experience preferred.
Salary: $110,000 - $165,000/year
