What you will be doing:
- Maintain accurate books and records for assigned funds and participate in monthly department close procedures
- Work cross-functionally to assist in the preparation of quarterly investor NAV statements
- Prepare analysis for investor capital calls and distribution recommendations
- Participate in the annual investment fund audit process, including the preparation of financial statements and footnote disclosures
- Maintain fund-level waterfall calculations
- Assist with the coordination of work papers in support of annual partnership income tax returns and Schedule K-1s
- Prepare fund budgets and regular reforecasts
- Develop and maintain fund reserve analysis and forecasts
- Actively participate in process improvements to enhance internal controls and efficiencies in financial reporting
- Research industry and accounting guidance and its applicability to assigned funds and the accounting and reporting process
- Calculate and reconcile assigned inter-entity and related party fees and expenses
- Prepare special reports and projects, collect, analyze and summarize information and trends
Experience you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10+ years of relevant accounting experience within the real estate industry and/or public accounting
- CPA designation or advanced degree preferred
- Fund reporting experience
- Experience in private equity or partnership investment accounting strongly preferred
- Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment and remain flexible and adaptable to rapidly changing priorities while staying focused
- Excellent organizational skills
- Self-starter who drives individual projects and takes ownership of outcomes
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000/year
