RBPRSLLC is looking for candidates to fill the position of Mechanical Design Engineer. On-Site position in Amsterdam, NY. No visa sponsorships supported, no agencies please.
What you will be doing:
- Support the Engineering Manager in providing engineering services to various departments.
- Perform mechanical designs of client's new products, accessories, and customization based on direction from the Engineering Manager.
- Enhance and revise product designs focusing on part standardization, simplification for manufacturing, and cost reduction.
- Develop product documentation and technical specifications.
- Test products and support organizational compliance with testing and certifying organizations.
- Complete and document analytical stress analyses.
- Utilize 3D CAD tools and perform FEA structural simulation and analysis in the Autodesk Inventor suite.
- Provide expertise in controls, PLC programming, and automation.
- Research and identify the mechanics, performance, and functional requirements of products.
- Partner with Purchasing and Production departments for design improvements to reduce costs and improve product quality and performance.
- Collaborate with sales and other functions on new product development and customization projects.
- Conduct product NRTL inspections, lift testing, and device calibrations.
- Provide oversight for planning related to lift certifications.
- Identify and adhere to regulatory requirements affecting assigned projects or products.
- Act as a backup to the Engineering Manager for all ALI requirements and participate in ALI Committee Meetings.
- Maintain awareness of current technology related to Client's activities.
- Handle MRP data entry and drawing revisions.
- Resolve Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) by investigating problems and implementing appropriate changes.
Experience you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- 10 years of experience, including 3 years of 3D CAD experience.
- 5 years of mechanical design experience.
- 5 years of MRP experience.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical design and drafting.
- Experience with CAD tools, specifically Autodesk Inventor.
- Familiarity with FEA structural simulation and PLC programming.
- Experience in revising existing designs focused on continuous improvement and cost reduction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as software applications for FEA structural analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Salary: $80,000 - $95,000/year
