What you will be doing:

  • Personally handle a file load of personal injury and medical malpractice cases
  • Extensive client interaction including intake and subsequent communications
  • Prepare demands and negotiate successful resolutions on behalf of clients
  • Attend and advocate for clients at depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials
  • Independently research, interpret, and apply legal principles in the context of motion practice and litigation
  • Attend and participate in weekly team meetings relating to the evaluation and advancement of injury and malpractice cases
  • Work collaboratively with senior attorneys, junior attorneys, and paralegals in litigating complex medical negligence and serious injury cases
  • Active involvement in all phases of client representation from intake, initial office conferences, case development, demand, negotiation, and resolution

Experience you will need:

  • Five or more years of experience
  • Client focused experience – personally demonstrate that both external and internal clients are a high priority by identifying and responding to their needs in a timely and efficient manner
  • Experience in Personal Injury Litigation
  • Experience in Complex Litigation
  • Experience in Medical Malpractice Litigation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Fully licensed to practice law in Rhode Island. Licensing in Massachusetts, and/or Connecticut is a plus
Salary: $100,000 - $200,000/year
