What you will be doing:
- Provide analysis and counsel to clients on legal policy.
- Lead the client through the litigation process including depositions and courtroom strategies.
- Provide legal counsel on issues arising from actual or anticipated lawsuits.
- Anticipate and guard against legal risks facing the client.
- Develop and recommend client policy and position on legal issues.
- Conduct and coordinate research, interview clients and witnesses, and handle all other details related to the preparation of trial or depositions.
- Represent the client or its officials in various legal proceedings.
- Prepare for trial including taking and defending depositions, written discovery, and other case preparation.
- Draft briefs, pleadings, position statements, stipulations, and dispositive motions.
- Write and administer complex legal arguments and defend such in court.
- Counsel clients on the creation of sound operating policies, procedural improvements, and related agreements to avoid future litigation.
- Participate in practice group meetings to review current objectives, cases, and network with other attorneys and stakeholders in the group.
- Participate in professional development initiatives for Continuing Legal Education and firm-sponsored seminars.
- Attend social functions and speaking engagements that support the development of the attorney’s practice.
- Author publications for internal or external use.
Experience you will need:
- License to practice law in Pennsylvania with bar admission in good standing.
- Degree from an accredited law school.
- 3-6 years of general litigation with trial experience.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management mindset.
- Commitment to professionalism, cooperation, and teamwork.
- A strong drive to provide proactive, client-focused legal services.
Salary: $107,000 - $150,000/year
