A leading civil engineering firm in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Project Engineer to manage multiple land development projects. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in residential, commercial, and/or industrial land development design and project management. An active PE Certification (registered in North Carolina or obtainable within six months) is required. The ideal candidate will excel in client management, project oversight, and team leadership.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Manage multiple land development projects and employees, ensuring accurate, timely, and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Develop project specifications, schedules, and cost estimates while coordinating phases and personnel.
  • Oversee project operations, monitor progress, resolve issues, and adjust plans to meet evolving needs.
  • Review team deliverables prior to client, municipal, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Attend client meetings, deliver presentations, and participate in marketing activities.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, manage budgets, and ensure timely invoicing.

Experience You Will Need:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Active PE Certification (registered in North Carolina or obtained within six months).
  • Required Experience:
    • Land development design and project management (residential, commercial, or industrial).
    • Knowledge and application of laws, regulations, and ordinances.
    • Client management experience, including RFP proposals and budget preparation.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and ability to manage multiple employees and projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent written and oral communication for interacting with clients, municipalities, and stakeholders.
    • Ability to prioritize and adapt to shifting tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in project management best practices, including maintaining project scopes and deliverables.
  • Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Salary: $85,000 - $110,000/year
