RBPRSLLC is looking for candidates to fill the position of Landfill Operations Superintendent. On-Site position in Narvon, PA. No visa sponsorships supported, no agencies please.
What you will be doing:
- Supervise and coordinate all on-site activities at the landfill.
- Inspect and oversee the work of landfill operations and maintenance staff.
- Assign duties and arrange for the training of all personnel under supervision.
- Provide recommendations to the Executive Director regarding equipment procurement, personnel usage, and system improvements.
- Enforce fire prevention, safety procedures, and all requirements outlined in the Authority's Preparedness, Prevention, and Contingency (PPC) Plan.
- Ensure adherence to all permit conditions, rules, and regulations by staff and facility users.
- Inspect landfill infrastructure including equipment, buildings, wells, roadways, gates, and fences to ensure proper maintenance.
- Prepare reports for the Executive Director on the condition of equipment and facilities.
- Create purchase requisitions and cost estimates, and recommend vendors for tools, equipment, parts, and services.
- Develop and implement work schedules and best practices for operational efficiency.
- Participate in the development, review, and updates of the Landfill Operating and Development Plan.
- Complete annual and interim performance evaluations of supervised staff.
- Act as the designated 'Site Emergency Coordinator.'
- Present operational updates to the Chester County Solid Waste Authority Board of Directors as needed.
Experience you will need:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related field preferred.
- Advanced training in public works, stormwater/erosion control, solid waste, environmental protection, or construction management is desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in solid waste management, public works, or heavy construction, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- At least 2 years of experience in operating and maintaining heavy construction and landfill equipment.
- Ability to analyze data to support safe and efficient landfill operations.
- Understanding of survey requirements per PADEP permit specifications.
- Strong knowledge of safe equipment operation and effective management practices in refuse landfilling and site development.
- Proven supervisory skills with the ability to guide, monitor, and assess the work of staff to ensure quality standards and organizational objectives are met.
- Skilled in preparing effective work schedules and implementing standard operating procedures for equipment management.
- Proficient in reading topographic and engineering drawings.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products in a Windows-based environment.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License.
- Must obtain the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) Manager of Landfill Operations Certification within one year of hire.
Salary: $120,000 - $140,000/year
