RBPRSLLC is looking for candidates to fill the position of Senior Civil Engineer – Land Development, in the Bakersfield or San Luis Obispo, CA region. No visa sponsorships supported, no agencies please.
We are seeking a California-licensed Civil PE with experience managing and overseeing land development projects. The ideal candidate will have a background as a project manager (particularly on large-scale projects) and possess expertise in hydrology and hydraulics.

What You’ll Do:
- Oversee full-cycle civil engineering work for land development projects, including grading, drainage, utilities, and site layouts
- Guide permitting processes and lead coordination with regulatory agencies
- Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and deliverables from planning to construction
- Conduct hydrologic and site assessments and prepare reports and engineering documents
- Collaborate with architects, surveyors, planners, and contractors to ensure smooth execution
- Represent the company with clients and help grow existing accounts
- Provide construction-phase support and review contractor submittals
- Mentor and lead junior engineers and design staff
Experience You’ll Need:
- 7–10+ years of experience in land development engineering (California experience strongly preferred)
- PE license in California (or ability to obtain in a reasonable timeframe)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Strong understanding of local building codes, regulations, and hydrologic modeling
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and relevant design tools (e.g., HydroCAD)
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for technical and client-facing work
- Ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross-disciplinary teams
- Valid CA driver’s license

Salary: $130,000 - $160,000/year
