What you will be doing:
- Perform routine maintenance on radiation-shielded and RF-shielded door systems, focusing on large automatic mechanisms.
- Install, align, and calibrate automatic door systems and components, including heavy-duty door operators and safety sensors.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electronic issues in large automatic radiation and RF-shielded door systems.
- Ensure precise adjustments and alignment of linear motion systems to meet rigorous performance standards in medical environments.
- Install and service automatic door operators, safety sensors, and linear motion systems.
- Provide guidance to customers on proper operation and safety procedures for complex automatic door systems.
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide technical support.
- Maintain professionalism and build strong customer relationships.
- Work independently in challenging environments, such as hospitals, where downtime can impact patient care.
- Prepare detailed service reports for management and customers.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to Clients and regulatory standards.
- Perform additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the Service Operations Manager or General Manager.
- Coordinate pre- and post-project communications with customers to manage expectations, address safety concerns, and ensure milestones are met.
- Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and regulations, including mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) per ANSI Z49.1.
- Communicate progress, issues, and recommendations to project management.
Experience you will need:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certification or associate degree in electrical, mechanical, or automation fields preferred.
- Welding experience.
- Extensive mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, especially related to automatic doors, linear motion systems, and safety interlocks.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
- Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) or other control systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with ANSI/BHMA standards and other safety guidelines for automatic door systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment as needed.
- OSHA 30 Construction certification required.
- Preferred certifications: Forklift, scissor lift, and first-aid.
- Experience in low voltage troubleshooting. Additional skills (like welding) are a plus.
Client is looking to hire 2 Field Service Technicians based out of any of the three locations: Dallas, Houston, or Austin. The technicians will be covering this territory (in and around these cities) and expected to travel approximately 95% of the time. These are remote roles, and the techs will be dispatched from home. Nelco will reimburse travel expenses, but a company vehicle will not be provided.
Salary is $35/hr. + benefits on full-time.
