Summary:
Our client is seeking a driven
HVAC Controls Sales Engineer to own both the business development and estimating sides of our Building Automation Systems (BAS) services. This hybrid role is perfect for someone who can hunt, build long-term relationships, and quote complex projects with accuracy. If you love wearing both a sales and technical hat—and can influence contractors, developers, and engineers alike—this is your next great move.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Client Development:
• Prospect, pitch, and close deals with mechanical contractors, facility owners, and developers
• Present customized solutions for integration, BAS upgrades, and energy efficiency
• Maintain and grow customer base through relationship management and follow-up
• Promote recurring revenue via service contracts and long-term solution packages
• Keep opportunity pipeline updated via Salesforce CRM
• Quantify ROI, rebate programs, and utility savings to support purchasing decisions
Estimating & Technical Duties:
• Review RFPs, blueprints, and specs to scope and price BAS projects
• Estimate material, labor, and subcontractor components
• Work with engineering and operations to ensure cost alignment and feasibility
• Prepare detailed proposals and coordinate smooth post-sale transitions
• Stay hands-on in early project phases to ensure scope accuracy

• Meet/exceed quarterly revenue and margin targets
• Deliver accurate, timely estimates and close high-value opportunities
• Win repeat business and expand client relationships
• Seamlessly bridge sales with technical estimating and delivery
Qualifications You’ll Need:
• 5+ years of experience in BAS or HVAC Controls Sales
• Strong estimating experience in BAS or MEP environments
• Working knowledge of BACnet, LON, and integration protocols
• Understanding of key BAS platforms and building systems
• Skilled in Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office; estimating software experience a plus
• Strong presentation, writing, and client-facing communication skills
• Detail-oriented, creative thinker who can work independently and drive results
Salary: $80,000 - $100,000/year
