A well-established and sustainability-driven distributor and fabricator of high-performance plastic materials is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their Houston-based team. This role is ideal for a driven sales professional with 5+ years of experience in the plastics industry—particularly in manufacturing or industrial fabrication—who thrives on building client relationships, driving revenue growth, and pursuing long-term career development in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.
What you will be doing:
Generate new business and grow existing accounts by identifying opportunities and managing the full sales cycle—from prospecting to closing.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, managing projects and maintaining strong client relationships.
Promote and sell plastic sheets, rods, tubes, machined parts, and industrial plastic machining services.
Travel within the assigned territory to meet clients, negotiate contracts, and introduce product updates and new offerings.
Collaborate with the Austin branch team through ongoing training and skill development.
Monitor industry trends and propose strategic marketing initiatives.
Meet or exceed individual sales targets and contribute to team performance.
Experience you will need:
Minimum 5 years of experience in the plastics or related industry, with a focus on manufacturing or industrial fabrication.
Strong technical aptitude; background in part fabrication is preferred.
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—including presentations.
Proficiency with Office 365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within territory.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
