A well-established engineering firm focused on delivering innovative transportation solutions is seeking a Project Engineer with at least 7 years of experience in transportation design and project execution. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is ready to lead technical teams, manage design phases, and ensure high-quality project delivery from concept through construction.
What you will be doing:
Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work on moderately complex transportation projects.
Lead technical efforts and supervise project teams (Grades 4–7), providing mentorship and performance guidance.
Collaborate directly with clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring communication and expectations are aligned.
Assist project managers with proposal development, work planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination across disciplines.
Perform field work, QA/QC reviews, cost estimating, and construction support activities.
Develop scalable plans and diagrams using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation; process RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
Stay current with evolving industry practices, design technologies, and materials to enhance project outcomes and team skills.
Experience you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
A minimum of 7 years of transportation engineering design experience.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office.
Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and leadership.
