What You Will Be Doing:
- Design civil and environmental projects such as wastewater and stormwater treatment systems.
- Perform field inspections and oversee installation of pollution control systems.
- Prepare water quality permit applications.
- Create detailed design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Manage permitting for stormwater, wastewater, erosion and sediment control, and general site planning (PA and/or NJ).
- Support a variety of land development projects: residential, commercial, industrial, institutional.
- Draft site layouts, utilities, stormwater systems, roadway infrastructure, and grading plans.
- Evaluate engineering alternatives and resolve technical challenges during project execution.
- Collaborate with project managers, CAD designers, and design leads to ensure quality standards.
- Maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Interface with clients and provide technical support.
- Travel to project sites (primarily PA, NJ, and NY) as needed.
Experience You Will Need:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering (Master’s Degree is a plus)
- Work Experience:
- 6+ years in civil/environmental engineering
- Proven experience in civil infrastructure projects including landfill, stormwater, wastewater, roadways, and utility planning
- Experience with residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional site design projects
- Licenses & Certifications:
- Professional Engineering (PE) License in Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey (required)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel to field sites
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with hydrology and hydraulics design software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS)
- Familiarity with PADEP & NJDEP Stormwater Management Rules, BMP Manuals, Green Infrastructure, and Chapter 105 permits
- Knowledge of construction principles, permitting processes, and erosion control standards
- Preferred Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Technical writing and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Ability to manage responsibilities independently and collaboratively
