Civil Engineer

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Design civil and environmental projects such as wastewater and stormwater treatment systems.
  • Perform field inspections and oversee installation of pollution control systems.
  • Prepare water quality permit applications.
  • Create detailed design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Manage permitting for stormwater, wastewater, erosion and sediment control, and general site planning (PA and/or NJ).
  • Support a variety of land development projects: residential, commercial, industrial, institutional.
  • Draft site layouts, utilities, stormwater systems, roadway infrastructure, and grading plans.
  • Evaluate engineering alternatives and resolve technical challenges during project execution.
  • Collaborate with project managers, CAD designers, and design leads to ensure quality standards.
  • Maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Interface with clients and provide technical support.
  • Travel to project sites (primarily PA, NJ, and NY) as needed.

Experience You Will Need:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering (Master’s Degree is a plus)
  • Work Experience:
    • 6+ years in civil/environmental engineering
    • Proven experience in civil infrastructure projects including landfill, stormwater, wastewater, roadways, and utility planning
    • Experience with residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional site design projects
  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • Professional Engineering (PE) License in Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey (required)
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Ability to travel to field sites
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
    • Experience with hydrology and hydraulics design software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS)
    • Familiarity with PADEP & NJDEP Stormwater Management Rules, BMP Manuals, Green Infrastructure, and Chapter 105 permits
    • Knowledge of construction principles, permitting processes, and erosion control standards
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Technical writing and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
    • Ability to manage responsibilities independently and collaboratively
$70,000 - $90,000/year
