Summary

As the sole customs compliance expert for U.S. and Canadian operations, you’ll lead strategic trade initiatives, drive regulatory adherence, and optimize cross-border processes. This is a high-impact role for an independent, detail-driven professional ready to shape trade compliance in a fast-evolving environment with direct ties to legal and executive leadership.
 
What You’ll Do
  • Develop and lead U.S. and Canadian customs strategy across company operations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for trade compliance, broker management, and regulatory agencies
  • Resolve customs clearance issues and oversee ACE/CARM account administration
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, logistics, and supply chain on audits and duty mitigation
  • Lead training on trade agreements and compliance practices across departments
  • Analyze customs and trade performance metrics; deliver reporting and recommendations to leadership
  • Stay current on evolving trade regulations and proactively implement necessary changes
  • Travel occasionally to other U.S. sites (e.g., El Paso, Mesa) as needed
 Experience You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of customs and trade compliance experience, or associate degree with 15+ years of directly relevant experience
  • Deep understanding of U.S. and Canadian trade laws, customs regulations, and free trade agreements
  • Hands-on experience with ACE reporting and government trade platforms
  • Familiarity with customs certifications and risk mitigation best practices
  • Strong leadership, organization, and government-facing communication skills
  • Independent, proactive mindset with a strong drive to lead and improve processes
$90,000 - $100,000/year
