Seeking an experienced Senior Audit Manager to join our Ocean, NJ office. This is a high-impact, hybrid role ideal for an
audit-focused CPA who thrives in a mid-sized public accounting firm environment and brings a strong foundation in
PCAOB audits. You'll play a key leadership role in managing audit engagements, mentoring staff, and serving as a trusted advisor to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple audit engagements from planning through completion across diverse industries
- Manage client expectations and develop trusted advisor relationships through clear communication and proactive issue resolution
- Supervise and mentor junior and senior audit staff, promoting a culture of technical excellence and collaboration
- Ensure PCAOB standards and quality controls are met throughout all engagements
- Review financial statements, disclosures, and workpapers with a focus on accuracy and compliance
- Support internal process improvements and contribute to audit methodology updates
- Engage in business development and client retention initiatives in collaboration with firm leadership
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of progressive audit experience within a public accounting firm
- Deep familiarity with PCAOB standards and public company audits
- CPA license (active and in good standing)
- Audit leadership experience with a blend of industries and client types
- Background from a mid-sized public accounting firm (Big 4 backgrounds are not preferred due to differing methodologies)
- Strong project management, mentorship, and communication skills
- Stability in prior roles — we value professionals who are committed to long-term growth
- Willingness to work on-site in Ocean, NJ at least three days per week
