An established construction firm with a strong legacy of delivering impactful infrastructure projects is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support the design and execution of large-scale solar energy systems. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with at least 5 years of experience, including 2+ years focused on PV array pile foundation design, and a deep understanding of geotechnical analysis and solar project delivery.
What you will be doing:
Design foundations, roadways, and structural systems for utility-scale PV and BESS projects.
Analyze geotechnical data, review technical reports, and recommend additional testing as needed.
Perform driven steel pile foundation designs and develop associated design tools.
Specify and evaluate pile test programs for structural design support.
Review third-party designs to optimize value and reduce risk.
Conduct lateral and axial pile analysis and contribute to cost estimating.
Evaluate plans and specifications for constructability and budget alignment.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and engage with clients to deliver tailored solutions.
Experience you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, including 2+ years in PV pile foundation design.
Proficient in LPile, Allpile, or similar geotechnical design software.
Strong understanding of ASCE 7, IBC, AISC 360, and ASTM standards; familiarity with AISI S100, ACI 318, UL 3703, and AASHTO Green Book.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
