An established construction firm with a strong legacy of delivering impactful infrastructure projects is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support the design and execution of large-scale solar energy systems. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with at least 5 years of experience, including 2+ years focused on PV array pile foundation design, and a deep understanding of geotechnical analysis and solar project delivery.

What you will be doing:

  • Design foundations, roadways, and structural systems for utility-scale PV and BESS projects.

  • Analyze geotechnical data, review technical reports, and recommend additional testing as needed.

  • Perform driven steel pile foundation designs and develop associated design tools.

  • Specify and evaluate pile test programs for structural design support.

  • Review third-party designs to optimize value and reduce risk.

  • Conduct lateral and axial pile analysis and contribute to cost estimating.

  • Evaluate plans and specifications for constructability and budget alignment.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and engage with clients to deliver tailored solutions.

Experience you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.

  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, including 2+ years in PV pile foundation design.

  • Proficient in LPile, Allpile, or similar geotechnical design software.

  • Strong understanding of ASCE 7, IBC, AISC 360, and ASTM standards; familiarity with AISI S100, ACI 318, UL 3703, and AASHTO Green Book.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
