Food & Safety Quality Manager

What you will be doing:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee food safety and quality assurance programs in accordance with FDA, HACCP, SQF, and company policies.
  • Work with manufacturing and warehouse personnel to investigate quality issues and apply corrective or preventive actions.
  • Conduct internal audits and lead third-party and regulatory inspections.
  • Monitor and improve production and sanitation processes to maintain product safety and quality.
  • Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives from a quality standpoint.
  • Coordinate validation and qualification of new equipment or processes impacting product quality.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation for quality systems including deviations, CAPAs, and audit findings.
  • Lead training and education on food safety, GMPs, and QA best practices across the facility.
  • Manage a team of non-exempt employees (sanitation and quality inspectors).

Experience you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, Microbiology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing quality assurance; experience in quality control and compliance preferred.
  • Working knowledge of FDA regulations, HACCP, SQF, GMPs.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting production teams with quality-related initiatives and equipment qualifications.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments.
  • Proficient in documentation, audit readiness, and quality management systems.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
$85,000 - $100,000/year
