What you will be doing:
Develop, implement, and oversee food safety and quality assurance programs in accordance with FDA, HACCP, SQF, and company policies.
Work with manufacturing and warehouse personnel to investigate quality issues and apply corrective or preventive actions.
Conduct internal audits and lead third-party and regulatory inspections.
Monitor and improve production and sanitation processes to maintain product safety and quality.
Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives from a quality standpoint.
Coordinate validation and qualification of new equipment or processes impacting product quality.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation for quality systems including deviations, CAPAs, and audit findings.
Lead training and education on food safety, GMPs, and QA best practices across the facility.
Manage a team of non-exempt employees (sanitation and quality inspectors).
Experience you will need:
Bachelor's degree in food science, Microbiology, or related field.
5+ years of experience in food manufacturing quality assurance; experience in quality control and compliance preferred.
Working knowledge of FDA regulations, HACCP, SQF, GMPs.
Knowledge of root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram) preferred.
Demonstrated experience supporting production teams with quality-related initiatives and equipment qualifications.
Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments.
Proficient in documentation, audit readiness, and quality management systems.
