What you will be doing:
Represent clients in negotiations, appeals, audits, and disputes with tax authorities to achieve favorable resolutions.
Analyze complex tax issues and financial records to assess liabilities and recommend effective strategies.
Prepare and review legal documents, including appeals, petitions, and settlement agreements.
Stay updated on evolving tax laws, regulations, and policies to provide accurate guidance to clients.
Advise clients on the potential consequences of various tax resolution options available to them.
Collaborate with internal teams and external professionals to devise comprehensive solutions.
Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates, answer questions, and offer legal counsel.
Attend administrative hearings and court proceedings to present clients' cases persuasively.
Assist clients in navigating tax compliance, penalty abatement, and negotiation of installment plans.
Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality while ensuring clients' best interests are served.
Experience you will need:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Active membership in the state bar association and relevant licenses to practice tax law.
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and procedures.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Detail-oriented approach to analyzing complex financial and legal documents.
Prior experience representing clients before tax authorities, administrative bodies, and courts.
Proficiency in legal research, case management software, and standard office software.
Demonstrated commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.
